'Ultimate Contact' Comfort Snaffle – Hanging Cheek (Baucher) style bit.

Stainless steel hanging cheek snaffle bit with wide barrel and copper inlay.

(Very similar to a 'Myler' bit which retails for around twice as much for same style) Stainless steel (Top quality 304 grade Stainless) Hanging cheek (Baucher) style, with copper inlay & shaped 'Comfort' mouth piece.

Main ring size: 60mm - Cheek length: 100mm

It uses pressure on the poll as the cheek piece has an extra ring above the snaffle ring where the bridle cheek pieces are attached to, this poll pressure encourages the horse to lower the head and come on to the bit especially useful for horses that have a high head carriage; for children riding ponies that need an extra bit of help to stop; or horses that are slightly too strong in a snaffle.

This cheek style has proven one of the most popular.

It is a fixed cheek bit, similar to an eggbutt cheek, which may be useful for horses that are unsure of the bit, or working forwards into a contact, as it doesn’t move around too much in the mouth (as opposed to a loose ring).

Dressage legal

Curved mouthpiece offers a higher degree of horse comfort as it allows more room for tongue and helps to avoid pinching of lips and bars by collapsing to form a softer “U” instead of an old-style “V” (reduces 'nutcracker' action).

Helps eliminate head tossing; encourages horse to accept the contact and work forwards into bridle.

Clearer communication between horse and rider: Independent side arm movement means each side of the bit is able to move independently of the other.

When you lift one rein, only one side of the bit moves, giving the horse a very clear signal.

Provides excellent shoulder control as well as lateral flexion.
